ROCK STAR

Well - we've been having skin issues this past week. Andrew's scalp has been really dry so my Mom suggested putting a little baby oil in his hair. I think I used too much, but it worked great for a mohawk :) He's also starting to break out on his cheeks, we thought it was a sweat rash at first. If anyone has any tips to make it go away, let us know :)

Happy 3rd Week birthday sweet baby boy! Andrew had quite an action packed weekend! It kicked off with dinner and a movie with Aunt Brooke & Uncle Ryan on Friday night. Saturday we visited with Aunt Sally and Uncle Norm and headed to a bbq at Aaron's friend from work. Sunday we had Andrew baptised, came home for a quick nap and headed to Aunt Shelley's for Jamie's graduation party. Monday afternoon we headed to Grandma and Grandpa V's for a bbq and ended the eventful holiday with pizza and fun and Grandpa Scott's! Whew, we're worn out! That's quite the weekend for a 3 week old :) Here's just some random pictures from the weekend!

We had Andrew baptised today at Aaron's church in Earlville. We had to plan the baptism this early due to Aaron's work schedule :( Andrew slept through the entire service and didn't make a peep when Pastor poured the water on his head. He was so handome in his little white tux!

My Future 's So Bright

Today we took a trip to the mall to get an outfit for Andrew's first party tomorrow! We also went for a walk in the stroller today, but we only made it around the circle in our neighborhood before he was hungry again.
Oh, Andrew slept pretty much through the whole trip again with an exception to eat and a quick diaper change.

Today we watched the Cubs game. While relaxing, the sound of the announcers put us to sleep and Andrew & I took a nap on the recliner. Go CUBS Go!

Andrew is 1 week old today :) We've had such a fun week, can't believe it went by so fast. We went to the pediatrician yesterday and he is in the 97th percentile for his weight, he is now weighing in at 10 pounds, 5 ounces! Last night Andrew stayed home with Daddy to watch the Cubs while I went shopping with Grandma V to buy some BLUE clothes! Today we wore a new outfit, played with our play gym, and slept in the swing. Life just doesn't get much better!

New Title?

We are trying to think of a new title for Andrew / Drew's blog, since Clarew isnt appropriate anymore. If you have any ideas please let us know, we're stumped. So for we've come up with "Doting Over Drew".

Happy Mother's Day!

What a beautiful day! It started with bright eyed smile and only got better. It's still a little surreal to be celebrating Mother's Day as a Mom. I got a new camera to capture all the love. We took Andrew out on his first shopping trip and he slept through the whole thing. Of course he woke up as soon as we got home. We've had a great day and he's already in routine. He slept pretty much all day and we had 3 FULL hours of him being awake and alert from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. We can't wait to see what new surprises tomorrow brings :)

We are having so much fun getting to know Andrew! Even though he is only 6 days old, we can't imagine how we ever lived without him. Aaron and I "time each other" for a turn to hold and play with him. We have had a great week and praise God for our beautiful angel.

The phrase it has to get worse before it gets better has never been more true for his birth story.
After 18 hours of back labor, with the cervadyl, ambien, pitocin, and an epidural I would not dilate past 5cm. Due to the pressure on my spine and his sunny side up position my cervix started to swell shut from the pressure of his head. They decided to do a C-Section with an additional spinal epidural. Thanks to Aaron, my mom, and Aaron's mom I got through the pain and am looking at the "sunny side" of the day!

Andrew is already pretty much sleeping through the night and I feel great. The only pain I have is in my back from carrying around a 10 pounder!! Aaron is such a proud Daddy and has the swaddling technique down pat! I had to wake him up to swaddle Andrew back to sleep. He's a natural and I am so proud of him!

The "Fur Brothers" are slowly adapting to Andrew. Stanley is never quite sure what to do when Andrew cries. He peeks in the crib and bassinet to make sure he's okay, and loves to check out the dirty diapers :) Bailey isn't really phased by him yet, but is enjoying all of the extra attention when people are visiting the house.

We are so anxious to show him off, he changes so much each day! We hope you can all meet him soon if you haven't already. Although, we have to warn you; you might be timed to take a turn :) Just kidding!

We just had our photo shoot at the hospital and we cant wait to share pictures of our beautiful baby boy! The photographer had so much fun she took about 35 more pictures than their supposed to:) She did such a great job, especially since he was fussy for the first time. IT'S A BOY!!!

Andrew Ryne arrived yesterday at 12:13 p.m. and weighed in at 9lbs 15oz, and 22 inches long. Kelli and Andrew are doing very well. Pictures will come in the near future, but I wanted to at least get it out that he is here! We love you all and thank you for your prayers and support.

It's a Girl ?

Did you get excited? According to Chinese Gender Prediction Charts and old wive's tales we're having a girl! Aaron and I tried this earlier in the pregnancy and for some reason they were all coming back boy, so I'm not sure what we were doing wrong. If you tried these when you were pregnant let me know how accurate they were :) So, do you think we will have a Clara Lindsey? Here's the sites if you're pregnant and want to try :)
